Lawrence A. Garcia, MD, FACC, FAHA, FSCAI

Lawrence A. Garcia, MD, FACC, FAHA, FSCAI, is a Board-certified interventional cardiologist with a focus on peripheral vascular disease. He received his undergraduate and doctoral degrees from the University of Arizona. Dr. Garcia completed his internship and residency at UT-Southwestern, Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He was a research fellow in the field of cardiology there as well. He later completed his Cardiovascular fellowship at the University of Iowa and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Later he completed his Interventional Cardiology fellowship at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He then completed his Vascular Medicine and interventions fellowship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. Dr. Garcia worked as Director of the Vascular Interventional section at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School for 10 years. Subsequently, he served for the last 14 years as Chief, Interventional Section, St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and is currently a Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston. In addition to his academic appointments, Dr. Garcia currently serves as an attending physician at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in the hospital’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory and Peripheral Interventional Laboratory. Over the course of his career, Dr. Garcia has directed several multi-center national and global trials for endovascular devices, and his work has earned him numerous accolades including Top Doctor of Boston in Interventional Cardiology by Castle Connolly Associates and Boston’s Top Doctors by Boston Magazine for the past 10 consecutive years. He is a member and Fellow of professional societies, including: American College of Cardiology, American Heart Association and the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI), among many others.
